2003 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet
For your consideration, a very special Porsche Carrera Cabriolet, 911 from 2003. This car's design does not have a straight line within its design. All surfaces are as smooth as a baby's bottom, and it is bathed in the correct color for this piece of German engineering...Silver Metallic. A dark blue convertible top is on and it moves up and down seamlessly. It is powered by a 3.6 liter flat 6 cylinder in the back of the car and it has Tiptronic toggles to shift while you are making that hairpin curve at 80mph plus. Yes, now is your chance to have your seat thrilled and be the proud owner of a Porsche Carrera... Just classic!
Exterior
Sexy is the keyword for this car and it starts with the aerodynamic integrated bumper, gracefully sloping sunny side up egg shaped headlights that undulate from the hood to the fenders. All this sex appeal is bathed in Porsche Silver Metallic. All of the gaps are straight, but we do note a few flaws in the paint that are limited to stone chips, some wear off on the fender fronts, and scratches in the spoiler area lower in front, and on the rockers. The bulbous rear of the vehicle works with the dark blue canvas drop top to form the sloping rear, also with a seamless rear body matching bumper complete with the sculpted taillights sounding either edge of the rear quarters. An integrated hidden rear spoiler automatically rises to help with the handling when up to speed and fits nicely into the engine lid. Big 19-inch multi-spoke Porsche wheels are wrapped in low profile all season rubber on all 4 corners.
Interior
Dark blue leather, with just a nice touch of some break in wear, covers the high back buckets with integrated headrests rising seamlessly from the tops of the seats. These front a curvaceous sexy dash with some interplay of black panels and cascading circular black faced gauges. An AM/FM/CD enabled radio can keep you entertained on those long fast commutes via the Autobahn or your local 4 lane interstate track. The car brags about cruise control, memory seats, power windows, power locks, and a power top. Seat matching slightly faded blue carpet floods the floors and remains amazingly clean. Noted is a blue top cover which adds to the aero look when the top is in the down position and is practically seamless.
Drivetrain
Shoehorned into the rear of the car is a 3.6 liter flat 6 cylinder which has the capability of producing 318 peak horsepower. Chiseled factory exhaust snakes its way out for a dual exit on either side. A 5-speed automatic transmission is bolted on and it has Tiptronic shifting capabilities. EFI and natural aspiration is how the flatty is fed. On back is a 3.44 rear drive axle
Undercarriage
With an 85 percent coverage of ground effects panels, only the wheels are visible from the bottom. The panels are in very good condition with slight road dirt and some scrapes on the lower front cowl of the bodywork. The rockers are solid, and big 4-wheel disc brakes are present along with 4 wheel independent suspension. The engine lowers show slight corrosion on the aluminum and the exhaust has a light coating of surface rust.
Drive-Ability
I could say a good time was had by all, but in reality, it was only me alone on the test track. Here this car had unlimited acceleration, smooth quick braking, and rail-like handling. The steering was snappy and responsive, and this car can cruise all day on the highway. All functions were flawlessly working, including the glass rear window top. I did notice the passenger mirror was not accepting my power commands.
Clearly a well maintained snappy 911 styling with big discs all around, the flat 6 cylinder EFI and Tiptronic all add up to serious fun in a very affordable package. Take all the liberties you want, and delight in the fact you are behind the wheel of a classic 911. Hey big spender...
